A client development specialist is both an investment consultant and a customer service specialist. As an investment consultant, you are responsible for servicing and managing a core group of LFS’ clients, as well as developing / acquiring new clients and meeting individual & team assets under management growth targets.   As a customer service specialist, you will be responsible for regular and ongoing interaction with the firm’s client base to ensure that the client’s experience with LFS is exceptional.  You will also be responsible for coordinating the majority of the firm’s client events each year.

An ideal candidate for the client development specialist should have earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and successfully passed the series 65 with FINRA. They should also have a basic understanding of LFS’ policies and procedures, back office operations, products and services offered through LFS, how investments work and what is happening in the markets. A client development specialist should also be organized, have good documentation skills, have exceptional phone and listening skills, be able to multi-task and resolve pending issues with clients. They should be able to work in a collaborative work environment, as well as work independently with minimal supervision or oversight. They should also be proficient in all MS Office applications as well as key software applications used at the firm.

Investment Consultant Responsibilities:

  • Performing regular and ongoing portfolio reviews
  • Develop professional relationships with the client
  • Have a strong understanding of LFS’ products and services and be able to recognize when to engage the client to use different products and services offered by LFS
  • Identify areas of opportunity to increase AUM
  • Provide quick and accurate resolutions to various client requests / needs
  •   Work with the Office Administrator to assist with business development (outside TDA sales support)
  • Paperwork processing
  • Point of contact internally
  •  Work with the office administrator to assist with the on-boarding and transitioning of new clients from the TDA networks
  • Help coordinate which wealth manager would be the best fit to work with the client over the long term
  • Collaborate with the wealth manager assigned to the client to ensure a smooth transition
  •  Act as the client’s quarterback- referring out more complex investment, planning and tax issues to qualified team members for resolution. Verify the client issue was resolved
  • Meet or exceed your personal business development growth targets
  • Met or exceed firm wide business development targets

Client Servicing Responsibilities:

  • Be able to deal directly with clients either by telephone, electronically or face-to-face
  •  Collaborate with other team members to develop ongoing and sustainable relationships with clients through regular and ongoing contact/communications with LFS’ client base
  •  Assist clients with general front & back office requests
  • Respond promptly to clients' inquires
  • Quickly identify and resolve client issues
  •  Identify clients who may be at risk and develop a campaign to keep the business
  • Work with the Office Administrator to set up new outside client accounts
  •  Meet or exceed your client servicing targets
  • Meet or exceed the firm wide client retention targets

Sales / Marketing Support:

  • Partner with our outside business development team members working the TDA networks to grow the referral network
  • Take point on organizing the majority of LFS’ client appreciation events
  • Organizing

Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with outside sales managers working the TDA networks, and in house wealth managers working the community networks
  •  Assist with sales and educational events/seminars designed to acquire new clients
  • Meet or exceed your personal client development growth targets
  • Meet or exceed your personal business development growth targets
