Business Development Specialist



As a Wealth Manager with a business development focus, you will be responsible for growing the firms assets under management through established referral networks and community outreach strategies. 

An ideal Wealth Manager should have attained a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business, finance, accounting or investments.  They should also have experience soliciting and obtaining business from national referral sources such as TD Ameritrade’s Advisor Direct platform.  They should have a solid understanding of buy side investment/portfolio management, investment research, trading, financial planning, estate planning and taxation.  They should also hold an advanced credentialing such as CFA, CFP® or CPA, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision or oversight. They should collaborate as part of a team, and be flexible and willing to adapt to changing financial markets, client needs and work requirements.

Business Development Responsibilities:

  •  Contact Branch Managers and investment consultants in the TD Ameritrade offices to increase referral business
  • Develop sales and marketing materials to generate referrals
  •  Develop sales and marketing presentations to generate referrals
  • Closely work with the TD Ameritrade offices to share the Lighthouse story and explain why they should be referring clients to us
  • Be familiar with basic compliance rules and regulations
  •  Contact prospective clients and set up meetings, either within an office environment or in a client's home or business
  •  Conduct reviews of clients’ financial circumstances and future goals
  • Analyze information from various sources and prepare presentations to new prospects
  •  Promote product and services provided by LFS
  • Look for new opportunities to design new financial strategies
  • Help clients make well-informed decisions
  •  Perform regular and ongoing sales and educational events/seminars designed to acquire new clients
  • Meet or exceed your personal business development growth targets
